Our Story

Common Ground, 1999–2026

Common Ground's roots go back to 1999, and Common Ground Mediation opened in 2004 with a simple belief: divorce doesn't have to destroy families. Our experienced staff have collectively handled over 8,000 mediations across 33 years.

Since then, we've guided over 8,000 couples through one of life's most difficult transitions — with a 96% success rate. We pioneered flat-fee divorce mediation in Utah and have saved Utah couples an estimated $250 million in attorneys' fees.

Today, Common Ground connects families with divvi. For new signups beginning November 1, 2026, divvi provides the services and your service agreement is with divvi. The history and results on this page are Common Ground's.
